Date of Assessment: 18 March to 16 April 2025. Comfort Care At Home is a domiciliary care agency, supporting people with care in their own homes. At the time of the inspection, they supported people living with a range of needs, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. At the time of our assessment 9 people were receiving support with personal care. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We assessed 13 quality statements within all the key questions. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last assessment. There was exceptional leadership at the service aimed at a holistic approach to people’s care which included monitoring of their health needs, emotional well-being and inclusion in the community. Considerations were also given to the wider community by raising awareness to respond to people’s and their families’ immediate needs. People were treated with kindness and as individuals making sure their wishes and preferences were always adhered to. Staff provided information that people could understand and sought their consent before providing care. Staff understood their job responsibilities and had the necessary support to ensure safe and effective care delivery for people. They received training and understood how to protect people from abuse.
