Inspection activity took place between 20 May and 23 May with a site visit on 20 May 2025. 1 Southdown’s View, sometimes referred to by people and staff as Kestrel’s, is a homecare service providing support to people living in their own homes. At the time of the assessment, 23 people were in receipt of the regulated activity of personal care. This inspection was carried out due to a previous breach of the legal regulation and the age of the previous rating. We found improvements had been made, and the provider was no longer in breach of the regulation in relation to good governance. There were now good systems of audit and governance in place to ensure good oversight over the service. Managers were both capable and knowledgeable about the service and the people they supported. Staff and the management team knew people's care needs and how best to support them, feedback from staff and relatives evidenced this. Feedback from people and relatives was positive about the high level of care and support people received. Staff had the appropriate levels of training, and medicines were administered and managed safely. Staff knew how to keep people safe and understood how to manage risks. People’s care plans reflected their preferences, and the service not only catered for their care and health needs, but also their interests and goals. There was safe and effective staffing in place and staff enjoyed working for the service.
