Valeo Domiciliary Care Service was rated Good overall following an April 2021 inspection, with only Safe and Well-Led key questions assessed for this small supported living service supporting two individuals. A minor governance issue regarding an inaccurate Statement of Purpose was identified and immediately rectified by the provider.

Strengths
· Systems were in place to protect people from abuse and avoidable harm, with clear safeguarding procedures understood by staff.
· Risks to people's health and safety were assessed, monitored and mitigated with regular review of risk assessments and care plans.
· Safe recruitment procedures were in place and there were enough staff to ensure people received appropriate care and support.
· Medicine administration records were well completed and staff competency in medicines management was regularly assessed.
· Appropriate infection prevention and control arrangements were in place including COVID-19 risk assessments and PPE provision.
Valeo Domiciliary Care Service was rated Good across all five key questions at its July/August 2016 inspection, with 27 people receiving personal care across nine supported living locations in Leeds. The service demonstrated strong person-centred practice, robust safeguarding and recruitment processes, effective staff training and supervision, and sound quality monitoring systems.
Strengths
· People felt safe and staff demonstrated a good understanding of safeguarding adults, including identifying types of abuse and reporting procedures.
· Robust recruitment and selection processes in place, including DBS checks before staff commenced work.
· Staff received regular training, monthly supervision and annual appraisals, and felt well supported.
· Care and support plans were person-centred, detailed and reviewed monthly, with annual reviews involving family input.
· People's mental capacity and right to make their own decisions was respected in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
