Date of Assessment: 7 to 21 October 2025. The service is a small care at home service providing care to adults of all ages living with physical disabilities and adults who have learning disabilities or who are autistic. The provider also provided some services to adults who did not receive direct support with personal care. As this falls outside of our legal remit we did not include these people in our assessment. There was a positive person centred culture at this service. People received care visits at times they wanted provided by staff who they knew and saw routinely. People had specific daily routines which people wanted staff to follow in relation to personal care, meal/drinks, and the care of their homes. The provider had ensured these were documented in detail, to direct the staff to follow these plans. Staff praised the provider for keeping in regular contact with them, monitoring their practice and offering advice. Staff received regular training in key areas of their work which was relevant to the people they provided care to. Despite these key positive aspects of the service, improvements were needed in how the provider assessed other aspects of the service they provided. Audits were not always effective. We identified issues with aspects of the care plans, some staff recruitment checks, medication management, consent, environmental assessments, and people’s movement and mobility needs. Audits were also not effective in capturing strong evidence to confirm the provider’s compliance. No one had come to harm as a result of these shortfalls, and the provider gave us assurances these issues would be resolved. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found the provider was implementing these values in their day to day work for.
