Date of Assessment: 14 to 27 November 2025. This service is a domiciliary care service, registered to provide personal care for people living in their own homes in the community. They provide support to people with a range of different needs including older people and younger adults. At the time of the assessment 169 people were using the service, 142 of which were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. Not everyone who uses a domiciliary service receives personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. An assessment has been undertaken of a specialist service that is registered for use by autistic people or people with a learning disability. At the time of the assessment, the service was not supporting anyone whose primary support need was a learning disability or autism. However, we assessed the care provision under Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, as it is registered as a specialist service for this population group. This provider was able to demonstrate how they were meeting the underpinning principles of ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. The service is also registered as a supported living service but at the time of our assessment was not providing this type of support. We therefore did not assess this part of their registration. We rated this service under our previous methodology in September 2018 where it was inspected and rated as good overall. At this assessment we reviewed all 5 key questions and rated the provider overall good. Since our last visit the service has had a change of provider. We received mixed feedback from staff on changes implemented and support now in place. We discussed this with the provider who agreed to explore further with the staff team. Care records for some people contained historical information or needed additional detail in some parts of the care plan or risk assessments. Whilst we found no harm to people, further review was needed to ensure risks were fully mitigated and to ensure staff had accurate information to be able to provide care and support that was safe, consistent and effective. This was actioned immediately by the registered manager. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. Staff received appropriate training, and the management team supported staff through regular supervisions and appraisals. Recruitment systems were under review to fully ensure the safe recruitment of staff. People were protected from the risks of abuse and staff were trusted to keep them safe. Staff had received training in how to safeguard people. Lessons were learnt from incidents and shared with staff. People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected people’s privacy and dignity and treated them as individuals and supported their preferences. People were involved in assessments of their needs and care was based on the latest evidence and good practice. Staff worked with other agencies to support people to achieve good outcomes. Staff supported people to understand their care and treatment and to enable them to give informed consent. Governance systems were in place to monitor the standard of care people received.
