Date of Assessment: 10 to 23 July 2025. The service provides homecare to people living in their own apartments at Grove Place Retirement Village. The provider supports older people who may also have a sensory impairment or a physical disability. This was a responsive inspection of all 5 key questions triggered by our ongoing monitoring of the service. People were safe and protected from avoidable harm. People’s care was provided by sufficient numbers of skilled and experienced staff. The provider ensured staff worked with people to understand any potential risks to them and measures were in place to mitigate any risks identified. People felt able to speak up about any concerns and processes were in place to investigate any incidents and to ensure required actions were taken. The provider and the registered manager understood which incidents needed to be reported to external agencies. The provider ensured people’s care needs were holistically assessed and regularly reviewed with them. People’s consent was sought to provide their care. Staff worked both together as a team and with external agencies to support the co-ordinated delivery of people’s care. The provider’s aim was to provide a personalised service which enabled people to live the life they wished to, as independently as possible. Staff supported people both to make use of the various facilities, services and activities available on-site and to access their local community. People were supported and treated with dignity and respect and compassion by staff throughout their care journey. People were central to their care and treatment choices. The service was well-led by the registered manager and their on-site team, who were supported by the provider’s senior management team. The provider had clear systems of accountability and good governance.
