We carried out our assessment of this service between 22 September and 30 September 2025. Barking provides care to people living in their own home. Not everyone who used the service received personal care.CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is to help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social provided. At the time of the assessment there was 11 people receiving personal care. We had previously inspected this service in February 2019 when it was rated good overall. Our ratings did not change as a result of this assessment, and the service remains good. During the assessment we spoke with five people who used the service and their relatives, 4 care staff, a care co-ordinator and the registered manager for their feedback about the service. This was a planned assessment of all quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. We carried out the site visit on 23 September 2025. We gave the service 24 hours’ notice of the assessment. This was because we wanted to make sure someone would be available to support us with the assessment. Risks were identified and were assessed to ensure people received safe care. People told us they felt safe when receiving support from staff. Staff were aware of how to safeguard people from abuse. Pre-employment checks had been carried out to ensure staff were suitable to work with vulnerable people. People were supported by staff who had the relevant training and qualifications to safely support them. People received care from staff who were caring and had a good relationship with them. Staff respected people’s privacy and dignity. Staff said they felt supported by the registered manager. Systems to monitor the quality and safety of the service were in place. Staff reported having a positive relationship with the provider and felt communication was effective. The provider had a number of quality assurance and audit checks to monitor the care being provided.
