Date of assessment: 5 to 26 February 2025. The service provided a supported living service to older people and younger adults living with learning disabilities or autistic spectrum disorder. The inspection was prompted due to concerns brought to our attention. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’. This guidance supported judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choice, independence and access to local communities that most people take for granted. Incidents were learnt from, risks well managed and safeguarding processes effective. The service provided excellent support with transitions. Staff were recruited safely and received training to meet people’s needs. People were supported to keep their homes safe. Systems were in place to assess people’s communication needs and promote skills. The service strived to deliver care in line with good practice. People’s capacity was assessed and staff sought consent. The service worked proactively to ensure people could engage in their support. People were supported to maintain important relationships and access meaningful activities. The service had several initiatives to promote staff wellbeing. The service proactively sought feedback from people and relatives. Reasonable adjustments were made to ensure people’s homes were accessible and they had the necessary equipment. The service supported people to overcome barriers to care and support, and plan for the future. Leaders were recruited safely, had access to developmental opportunities and led by example. Staff were well treated and had the freedom to speak up. Governance systems included regular checks and audits. The service had positive working relationships with local community organisations. Staff were supported to develop their skills around innovation, and improvements were continuously made to the safety and quality of care.
