Sanctuary Supported Living (Oleander House) received a Good rating across all five key questions at its first CQC inspection in May 2017. The service demonstrated strong person-centred practice, safe staffing and medicines management, effective governance, and a caring culture that promoted independence and dignity.
Strengths
· People felt safe and staff understood how to recognise and report abuse, with financial audits in place to reduce risk of financial abuse.
· Risks were individually assessed, managed and regularly reviewed, with personalised evacuation plans and appropriate specialist equipment.
· Sufficient staffing levels determined by individual need, with safe recruitment practices including DBS checks and references.
· Medicines were safely administered with competency checks required before staff could administer independently.
· Staff received thorough induction including Care Certificate, ongoing training, and regular one-to-one supervision.
Oleander House received a Good rating across all five key questions at its November 2019 inspection, maintaining the same rating as its previous inspection in 2017. The service demonstrated strong person-centred care, safe medicines management, effective governance, and positive staff-person relationships within a supported living environment for people with learning disabilities and related conditions.
