Also known as: Tyne and Wear Care Services Ltd
We carried out an assessment of SureCare Gateshead between 29 January and 9 March 2026. We received telephone feedback from people and relatives on 4 February 2026, and then reviewed documents remotely. This was the first assessment since the service was registered. SureCare Gateshead provides personal care to people living in their own homes. The provider had systems and processes to keep people safe, including safeguarding. Staff understood these and felt confident to report concerns. People had personalised care plans and risk assessments that supported safe, independent living. There were enough trained and competent staff to meet people’s needs, and staff worked well together. New staff were recruited safely. Medicines were well managed, and infection prevention and control arrangements were effective. People were supported to maintain their health and wellbeing and told us care had improved their quality of life. Staff treated people as individuals and promoted their dignity, independence and choice. The provider made sure people could access information in ways that suited them and supported people to plan for the future. Leaders promoted an open, inclusive and person-centred culture and were accessible to staff. Governance systems were effective in monitoring quality, learning from information and improving the service. The provider had a business continuity plan, although we found this required further development to give more detailed guidance about handling specific incidents. People, relatives and staff were encouraged to give feedback, and the service used this to improve.
