We carried out a comprehensive assessment of Amber Rose Healthcare between the 19 and 26 January 2026 as part of our routine programme. We visited the service on the 19 January 2026. The service provides care at home and supported living for people with mental health needs, learning disabilities and autism. Our assessment considered the principles of Right support, right care, right culture. This report relates to the service provided to people using the home care service. The culture at the service was open and transparent. Staff described an open-door policy and felt comfortable raising concerns. There were enough staff to make sure people were able to choose the times of visits to fit in with their preferred routines. Quality monitoring systems were in place, but audits needed to be more robust and clearly identify what had been checked. The registered manager was committed to ongoing improvements. They made changes to the audit system before the end of the assessment and provided evidence to the Care Quality Commission about how audits would be carried out in the future. Overall, the leadership and governance arrangements supported safe, effective and person-centred care, with a clear focus on continuous improvement. Staff demonstrated a clear understanding of safeguarding and were confident any concerns raised would be acted upon. Risk assessments were in place and regularly reviewed. Medicines were generally well managed. Care plans were person-centred and regularly updated. We saw evidence of positive outcomes for people using the service. Staff encouraged choice and respected people’s preferences. People and relatives were positive about the care provided. Recruitment was mostly safe but checks about new employee’s employment dates and references needed tightening. The registered manager made the appropriate checks before the end of the assessment and provided evidence of the action they had taken. Training compliance was high, and staff felt supported with supervision and development opportunities. There was good team communication and clear policies for emergency situations.
