Also known as: Mount Joyce Care Ltd - Kettering
Date of assessment 25 September 2025 to 16 October 2025. Mount Joyce Care Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing support for people within their own homes. At the time of this assessment the service was supporting 11 people with regulated activities. CQC only inspects where people are in receipt of regulated activities such as personal care. We spoke with 7 people and their relatives, 4 care staff as well as the registered manager and nominated individual. We sought feedback from health and social care professionals. This is the first assessment of Mount Joyce Care Ltd. We found 2 breaches of legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment and good governance. Care plans lacked specific details and guidance for staff about people’s individual support required. Risk assessments were not always in place and where were, lacked detail and guidance for staff. Medicine management and administration required improvements. Where people received support with their medicines, staff did not always include enough or accurate information such as actions taken when refused or not required. People did not always receive their medicines as prescribed. The provider did not maintain logs of accidents, incidents and complaints. This lack of oversight prevented the identification of themes or trends, limiting the ability to take action to mitigate risks or learn from events. Quality monitoring processes did not identify the concerns we found during this assessment. Staff were mainly recruited safely and felt supported within their role. Staff built up a good rapport with people and delivered care with kindness and compassion. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to some of the concerns found at this assessment. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/ or appeals have been concluded.
