Date of assessment: 16 January 2026 to 2 February 2026. SureCare-Colchester and Braintree is a domiciliary care service registered to provide personal care to individuals living in their own home. At the time of the assessment, there were 2 people being supported by SureCare-Colchester and Braintree. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive personal care. Where the service does provide personal care, we also consider any wider social care provided during our assessment. This was the first assessment of this service. During the assessment we spoke with 2 people who use the service and 2 staff. We sought feedback from health and social care professionals and spoke with the registered manager and deputy manager. We reviewed documentation, including policies, care records, training records, recruitment files, governance records and procedures. Staff gave positive feedback on the service and leadership support. Care plans were completed for people and contained person centred information important to people who used the service. People and relatives told us they felt they received safe care and that risks to people were managed well. The staff had a good awareness of how to raise concerns if they suspected abuse. Systems were in place to manage any concerns that were raised. Staff and people benefited from an open and positive culture that had been developed by the registered manager. People were supported by a team of staff who knew them well. Staff felt valued, undertook regular training and received supervision. People were involved and consented to care and support provided. People were treated as individuals and were encouraged to be independent. People and staff were asked for their views on the quality and safety of the service, and their feedback was listened to. People and relatives knew how to raise concerns. Governance systems were in place and regular audits were undertaken by the registered manager. The provider had a vision to expand on the number of people that they cared for, whilst providing a high standard of person-centred care.
