Also known as: Kintail Care Ltd
Date of Assessment: 12 January 2026 to 22 January 2026. This was our first assessment of this service under their new legal entity and included all 5 key questions. The service provides personal care services for people living in their own homes in the Exeter and Exmouth areas. Not everyone who used the service received the regulated activity of personal care. The CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of our inspection there were 32 people using the service in receipt of support with their personal care. There was a positive learning culture within the service, and feedback was continually sought to improve outcomes for people and meet their needs. People confirmed they knew how to give feedback and were confident the service management would take feedback seriously and act on it. We saw evidence to support this. People were protected and kept safe from abuse. Staff were happy to raise any safety concerns and felt they would be dealt with properly by the service management. There were enough staff in place and staff deployment was planned and adapted as required. Staff were recruited safely in line with requirements. People were consulted around how they wished their care to be carried out. Staff understood and managed risks related to people’s care and there were clear and accurate records reflecting people’s needs and desired outcomes. Safe systems ensured medicines were administered appropriately where required by competent staff. Staff worked with other professionals where required to promote the best outcomes for people. The provider made sure staff received mandatory training and there was appropriate induction for new staff. Staff cared for people with dignity and respect and promoted their independence. We received very positive feedback from the people we spoke with. People were treated with kindness and compassion and had a good level of consistency in care staff. Leaders were visible and supportive, helping staff develop in their roles. There was a registered manager in place at the time of the inspection. Staff felt able to give feedback and were treated equally. We received very positive responses from staff when we asked about leadership, the management team and job satisfaction. Effective audits were in place giving oversight of quality.
