Date of assessment: 11 December 2024 to 13 January 2025. We carried out an assessment based on information of concern we received. The service specialised in the care of people with a learning disability and autistic people. We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether they guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. Where risks were identified they were mitigated. There were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. People’s medicines were managed safely. People were involved in assessments and reviews of their needs. Care plans and assessments took account of people’s communication, personal care and health needs. People were involved in decisions about their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. The service provided information in a format people could understand. Staff worked in partnership with other agencies to make sure people were encouraged to identify and achieve their goals. People were treated with kindness and compassion. Staff protected their privacy and dignity. People were encouraged to maintain relationships with relatives and friends. People received fair and equal care and treatment. Leaders and staff had a shared vision and culture based on listening, learning and trust. Leaders were knowledgeable, supportive and visible. Staff understood their roles and felt able to give feedback. There was a culture of continuous learning and improvement to ensure people received good quality care.
