Inspection activity took place between 16 July and 18 July with a site visit on 16 July 2025. SDR Care Services Head Office is a homecare service providing unique care support and opportunities to people under the age of 65 and living with learning disabilities, who are living in their own homes. At the time of the assessment, 2 people were in receipt of the regulated activity of personal care. This was the first inspection for this service. We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. I was able to gather evidence and feedback that the service meets the needs of the people who they support. People were able to move freely around their own home and choose how they wanted to spend their time. People were encouraged and supported to be independent with daily tasks around the home such as doing their laundry or preparing meals. People’s care was very personalised and regardless of the complexity of some people's needs everyone had equal opportunities. People were encouraged to express themselves and their ethos and values were celebrated. We found that the service had exceptionally inclusive leadership who had extensive skills and knowledge to be able to deliver bespoke care. The service ensured there were daily opportunities for people using the service to engage in meaningful activities, develop skills and participate in their local communities. There were good systems of audit and governance in place to ensure good oversight. The management team had in depth knowledge about the service. Staff and the management team knew people's care needs and how best to support them. Feedback from relatives and community health care professionals was positive about the high level of care and support people received. Staff had the appropriate levels of training, and medicines were administered and managed safely. Staff knew how to support and communicate with people in ways that suited them. People were supported to not just have care and support but to have a good quality of life, to access the community and do things daily that they enjoyed. One community health care professional told us, "The true testimony of success has been the family now being able to go on holiday and not feeling anxious at all times, concerned for his welfare. The trust and confidence already shown in [Name] new staff team is evident and they show to be caring, responsive and effective in how they approach and meet their complex needs.” Another community health care professional told us, "I have been very impressed by this service from its inception, the staff team are enthusiastic, well-informed, proactive and eager for any advice and input available to them. Staff have been very accepting and welcoming of myself and other members of our learning disability health service and guidance has been immediately and carefully implemented with oversight from a dedicated and resourceful manager."
